1985 mariner 4m help

I havent used the motor in about a year. I cleaned the carb out and it wasnt gummed up. But now it starts and will rev up really high and then just go back down and shut off. I can keep it running if i keep the choke almost all the way on. Any idea whats going on with this thing?

You have a passage way stopped up and could be the following:
1)Idle fuel passage
2) Idle jet
3) Clogged idle/off idle or air passage port

Thanks for the diagram, it should really clear some things up for me now. I did notice that the pilot jet or the idle jet was clogged up so i cleaned it out and will try running it again tonight to see if that was it or not. Thanks again for the picture.
