Please help. I have a 1985 Four Winns Santara 210 that is really nice with the Mercruiser 260 that has been really nice until now. I was camping at the lake and beached the boat for about 6 hours. When I took it out it had quite a lot of water onboard. The water was coming out of the bilge and onto the deck. I took the boat back to shore and bilge pumped the water out. After that I took the boat out and it ran fine. I lifted the dog house over to check for water and noticed that what is usually normal looking oil in the bilge from a leak I have not fixed is now milky oil. Sure enough the oil in the engine is milky as well. My first question is why would the boat take on water while beached and not while I am out riding around? The only thing different I notice is that the motor is up in the trailer position. And second could the water have gotten inside the engine at the point of the preexisting oil leak? Or do I have a larger problem. The boat ran great and the temperature was normal when I ran it after I bilged out the water. I only ran it for around ten minutes before I noticed the milky oil. Any help would be appreciated.
