I have a 1985 mercruiser 140horse. The motor runs fine but when you shift into reverse or forward the motor stall's out. Please any suggestions would be appreciated.
Most common cause is the lower shift cable needs replaced. They become hard to operate and cause the shift interrupt system to stay engaged to long. Before you ask, NO, you can't adjust it or lube it.
