1985 OMC 3.8L V6 Idler pulley bearing issue.

I’ve recently experienced a lot of noise from the belt idler pulley bearing. (I don’t have power steering). The part number shown in my parts manual doesn’t come up with a replacement no matter where I search. This is supposed to be a GM part and not an OMC part. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement?

Pardon Our Interruption...

I ordered this part last week. The bearing inside was a pressed in sleeve and I couldn’t find any sort of replacement beside the full assembly

HI, I am sorry for the late replay but, sometimes life gets in the way.

I want to thank Jordanduguay for the response. It may sound cold but, I already have a “used unit”.

I did however; visit an old friend of mine who owns an electric motor rebuilding and bearing supply company. After about an hour of searching he may have come up with a replacement bearing for the idler unit. The numbers look good and I’ve taken my idler unit apart. I will revisit him early next week and see if the bearing he has in hand will work as a replacement. If it does, I will post the part number.
