I bought this boat from my neighbor. It was sitting under a tree in his backyard with a motor sitting on each side of the boat. (Sorry no pics at this point) Further investigation revealed that the block had cracked on the motor which came in the boat and my neighbor bought a motor from a truck, swapped the necessary parts, then apparently lost interest. I could tell the interior was junk, but figured, what the heck, I've always wanted to learn how to do upholstery work. I figured put the motor in, maybe some plugs and wires, oil and filter, a few odds and ends here and there and she'd be road ready. Less the interior. So I pulled it across the road, literally, to my house.

Here's another one of some of the interior before I started ripping it out. I didn't get any while it was still full of leaves and I have already removed the engine cover and rear seats.

There is a very long and boring story about the engine, but the end result is that it I had to do a complete rebuild, the starter was bad, alternator was shot, and the fuel pump was junk.

Here it is not long before we set it in. I didn't realize the fuel pump, alternator, and starter were bad until I set it in the boat. I had already installed a new starter, but it was the wrong one. It wouldn't touch the flywheel.

Finally get the motor in the boat.
We cranked the motor and set timing and I checked the oil in the drive. I couldn't wait to put it in the water. The next weekend it was cold, about 47degrees, and misting rain. Didn't care, we're going to the lake. Ran the boat for about an hour it seamed to run fine at idle and about medium throttle. Didn't want to push it until I get it broken in some more. After loading I felt of the outdrive. It didn't seam hot in the bearing area's so I assume it is O.K. I know from reading other posts that there are many things to check and replace on the outdrive, but that will have to wait until later.
Feeling confident that the engine and outdrive are OK I decided it was time to tackle the interior and the carpet.

Got the carpet out now and I realized that the pieces that hold the dash up are rotten, thus letting the consoles fall down and not letting the window shut correctly.
I have some more pics and have made a little progress toward going back together, but only have a disposable camera. Can't post until I get the cd back. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who have helped thus far in my rebuild. I am about 3 weeks into it and just now developed my first camera. I have already posted a few times here and on the Mercruiser forum. Thank you. I will try to update some more soon.

That's a nice sturdy looking glass hull. Should be a nice boat all fixed up. However, I would be seriously concerned about the condition of the transom and stringers in that boat since it's been left out in the weather so long.

I'm sure your right. How exactly would you check the transom? It seams solid and the fiberglass still looks in good shape. Stringers? Are they the ones that run the length of the boat or cross ways? At any rate the deck seams solid, no soft spots. Also, I've read on this forum that alot of decks are 3/8. Mine is 3/4 plywood. I have a few more pics that I will try to post later tonight.
