Thanks to Kb5fjx for letting me ask questions on here and thanks to all the help from you other guys. As for woodonglass Kb5fjx and i are doing the same restoration on pretty much the same boat, so whatever questions i ask and answers i get will also be beneficial to him also. So please mind your business. Kb5fjx if you have any questions for me because i may be just a bit ahead of you on my restoration, please feel free to ask. Im about to start grinding and start to work on my stringers. If you have any on fiber glass work go to youtube and watch the project glastron rebuild. He has videos from the very beginning of his restoration to the end and he gives a detailed list of materials he bought as he to was a first timer.

Ah...Camcorder77, we don't work that way on these forums. Each person starts their own thread and project. So for your boat, start your own thread so we iboaters can keep your two projects separated and then can answer your question and kb5fjx's question pretaining to each project. When two people post on the same thread, ideas and suggestions get confusing. So I too suggest you start your own thread if you want any assistance form the great knowledgeable people on here. Uhmm Newbies would do well to read and understand iBoats forum Rules and quidelines before making such statements. This kind of stuff won't get you the kind of advice you're wanting.

There's nothing wrong with visiting this thread, but it gets very confusing for people that are trying to help when multiple people are asking questions in one thread.

Your thread will get plenty of traffic and your questions will be answered much easier there.

Which woodonglass actually commented on and pusher referred me to here. So how am i wrong

Some of the guidelines can be frustrating for sure. I'll vouch for that. This is actually the most strict forum I'm a member of. You might try adding a link of your project to your "signature" so people can jump to your thread if they see you posting elsewhere.

Camcorder77, first thing is don't take these recommendations as anything but a way for you to get your project going and for us to assist your project. Don't take it to heart and become disgruntle. We are only trying to help everyone as best we can.

When two people are posting on the same thread for their boats, even if similar or the exact same, advice can get confusing for everybody. That is the reason for starting your own thread. If doesn't cost anything to start your own. It is totally free! And I can tell you we want you to post your questions and such on your very own thread. The more threads the more ideas can exchange from everyone. We are certainly not challenging you or trying to run you off by no means, just trying to explain the rules and why.

hey, did you figure out what to do with your stringers? I'm in the same boat with a 86 skeeter starfire 175. any advice? any pictures of your stringer work?

I am still working on removing the un-rotted area of the Transom, but the weather here is still nuts, we had 3 good days from Monday to Wednesday, now is back to cold weather. I am working on it as weather permits. I plan on doing what woodonglass told me with the stringers.

By the way for the ones wondering about my neck problems that was causing excruciating pain down my right arm, the pain in my arm finally went away and the DR. did not want to do surgery now unless it comes back. He recommended I do physical therapy and keep a neck brace around if I start having pain.

Here is the report from the MRI:

Radiology Report

STATUS: Signed
MRI/Cervical Spine WO Contrast

CERVICAL SPINE MRI

CLINICAL HISTORY:pain

COMPARISON:11/21/2016:

TECHNIQUE: Standard MRI cervical spine protocol. Sagittal T1, Sagittal T2, sagittal STIR, axial T2
, and axial gradient echo images obtained.

TECHNIQUE: Multiplanar multisequence MR imaging of the cervical spine performed without the
administration of contrast.

FINDINGS: The prevertebral soft tissues are normal in thickness. The cerebellum and cerebellar
tonsils are normally positioned. No acute fracture or listhesis is identified. The signal
intensity of the cervical spinal cord is normal. Very cellular bone marrow consistent with obesity.

No additional findings on the scout views.

C3-C4: Has disc narrowing. No significant herniation or stenosis per

C4-C5: Has slight disc bulging and osteophytosis. No pulmonary canal. No severe foraminal canal
stenosis.

C5-C6: Has slightly more prominent broad-based disc osteophyte complex mild foraminal stenosis
slightly greater on the left. Slight flattening of thecal sac with canal is still 9.5 mm.

C6-C7: Has broad-based disc herniation on the right posterolaterally and laterally. Milder
involvement on the left. Extruded disc material seen. The disc space on sagittal images

Sounds like you've been maning it up through multiple types of pain! Glad you've had a chance to get out on the boat when weather permits.

Well folks, all of the transom is out, time to start grinding. I also got the new 55# thrust trolling motor head put on my trolling motor. I found that the head that was on it was only 35# thrust. That wasn't going to get it for me, we have a lot of windy days around here in Arkansas. The wife spent the day scraping the clear coat on the top cap, I'll be glad when all the pealing crap is off and it's nice and smooth to paint. I'll do some photos tomorrow.

I guess I'm not understand about the trolling motor issue. The head is where the controls are. Did you mean the actual motor? :noidea:

I been looking at going ahead and ordering the wire and colors I will need when I start that step of the rebuild, my question is, for the normal wiring on the boat (not the trolling motor) is 12 AWG heavy enough, no runs will be longer then 9 foot from the fuse box, and most likely shorter. for the Trolling motor, I am using regular heavy 1/0 battery wire from the batteries to the trolling motor.
