Is there anyone who knows why my 1985 VRO 90 HP outboard loses power when I am at full Throttle. Here the thing...I pre mix my oil/gas 50:1 and using the vro pump as a stand alone pump. When I am up on plane my motor is like going to lose power and then pick it up again. This happens often. When I push the choke in from the key ignitons then the motor is humming with no problem...when i release the push in choke then it does it again. Does anyone know that the problem and how to fix it. Thanks

it sounds like a fuel shortage, that could be from a bad line or pluged fuel filter/screen or a pluged vent for gas tank, or just junk going through the carbs,

Does sound like fuel starvation. Does it improve by squeezing the bulb ???
Another question, why are you using the VRO pump as a stand alone ???

Re: 1985 Vro 90 Hp

I still have the VRO pump and using it as a pump and I took out the oil tank capped off the hose where the oil goes in from the crowler. I mix the gas and oil myself. When a squeeze the bulb it does not do anything as the bulb is firm. I am thinking that it is starving for gas. when I am running at about 30 mph it works fine...then when I open the throttle to go about 40 mph then it starts to hesitate and power up again and hesitate. Thanks

The lines are new. I just changed the filter and have not tried it yet. I will know soon.
