Hello All,
Been a while since I posted but I have'nt had many Yammie problems lately.
When I put the boat to bed for the winter, I ran the engine to get fuel with stabilizer into the carbs, hoses, and fuel pumps. The engine was running well prior to winterizing. When I pumped the ball prior to starting, I noticed raw fuel coming out of the middle carburetor. (This fuel problem may not have been noticable before winterizing because I had the airbox installed) My carburetors are the Takai single float type. When I pumped the ball, I really pumped it hard which I always do. Can pumping the ball really hard, creating a very high fuel pressure cause the needle and seat in the carburetor float chamber to not meter fuel into the carb. correctly?? (Not shut off fuel to chamber) Is this fuel leakage an indication of a carb problem or do I pump the ball too much. Needles and seats looked good during the last carb cleaning! (June) FYI, I also replaced both fuel pumps, hoses, carb float chamber gaskets, at that time.
What happened to rodbolt?? He still around?? Thanks in advance for your replies!!
