1986 140 3.0 4cl - does not stay on

to make it short.
ignition coil is not getting power when key is in the on position. it does at crank but it drops right after.

is it the switch , or something else?

Could be the ignition switch, kill switch, defective resistor wire on the engine, bad connection or a broken wire somewhere.
