My engine has been over heating when underway, its fine at idle. I took the drive off and replaced the impeller, I started to unhook all tubing going to heat exchanger. the starboard tube coming from I believe the block (larger tube) that connects to underneath the exchanger seems to be filled. I haven't gotten it off yet because I dont have a replacement yet. Does this pipe have a coil or something in it? It definitely has something in it, just not sure if its supposed to? I doubt it.....just curious before taking off.

Be careful there, if it has 4 hoses, two will be filled with antifreeze. Do not take them off. They will probably be the two inboard hoses. I don't know your exchanger, but you may be able to remove the end caps to check the raw water tubes. There should be no need to remove the hoses from the antifreeze side.
