1986 45/50 model 0a996603 mind boggling

This unit will fire up and run fine for 30 min or a hour or 2 hours, the cut it off for 45min to an hour and the it will only run off two cyls sometimes three ocassionally four. I have cleaned the carbs, put in new plugs. In the auto industry this could be a hot soak condition, in boats, I just don't know!

Does it help to squeeze the primer bulb? How old is your fuel line? is your primer bulb soft and squishy?
Could also be power pack or coils getting hot.We are talking 25+ YO engine. Has the fuel pump ever been replaced/rebuilt?

The fuel pumps are integeral to the carbs and have new kits in them. The bulb is squishy, ? leaky float needle?, The electronis crossed my mind, but I just keep coming back to fuel.

I was wrong about the fuel pump, just goes to show that auto/boat don,t mix.
