1986 90hp with 84 carbs?

hello,
I have a 86 90hp i was looking at some carb rebuild kits for it, and the ones i ordered did not work, found out who ever owned it before me put carbs off of a 84 90hp on it and took off the vro pump and converted it to premix, is this okay to run with these older carbs?????

i meant to say carbs off 82 90hp model eng according to the evinrude website they are call carbs early production

As long as the jetting is ok for the motor - no harm. Take a hard look at your spark plugs and make sure they're nice and brown to black colored. If they're light tan or white you could have a lean problem.
