If you give Bayliner a call Toll free at 877-861-6494 and give them your HIN, they can tell you EXACTLY what it is, and they will even send you a photo copy of the owners manual, for free.

Hi Don,

Azlakes also posted a number to call .. 360 area code so I am guessing Washington. I hope to get off work early enough tomorrow to give them a call.

In the meantime it's been fun (at least for me) taping all the knowledge here on this forum. It looks to me that Mark has it right! It was delivered today and we measured it at 15' 6" - pretty close to the spec (15' 7") on the picture that he sent.

I am sure a lot of my questions will be answered by the manual - like for example there is a "socket" on the starboard aft deck that I assume is for an anchor light and there is a power connector right in front of it which is, I assume, where said light would plug in.

The bilge pump is dead (verified by seller) and I can see it under the rear of the engine. Just haven't figured out how to get to it to replace it. Any suggestions? I have ordered one that is 600 GPH and has a float switch.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to get a carb rebuild kit? How about polish etc to get the shine back on the glass?

Thanks to everyone that has offered help and suggestions!!

Well, when I call the 877 number I get "your call cannot be completed as dialed" but the other number (360 from Azlakes) went through and they are sending me information!

I hope the literature will cover things like - removing the propeller as I am concerned that some of the widlife (and neighbors dogs) that run about on my property will get sliced and diced in the dark. I have seen other posts that suggest storing with the leg down and perhaps doing that and then building a box around the propeller would be a good thing. Any comments??

As I think I mentioned before the seller said that it needed a carb job done as it is hard to start and "fades" on acceleration. I see carb kits are quite expensive and then adjusting afterward might be more than I want to undertake, so I am considering paying a local boat place to do it. Again please comment.

Again Thanks to those who take the time to answer my endless questions!

The brochure Bayliner will send you will not cover mechanics. For that take a look here on iboats, amazon or ebay for a *Clymer Force manual that spans your year. It will have a lot of good info on how to adjust, tune, etc.. As for the prop, can you throw a burlap sac over it and cinch it up? Lot of work if all you want to do is keep it away from pets.

If you pop over to the section of iboats in Force/Chrysler Outboards and post a thread on lagging or hesitation on acceleration they will jump in and have a look. It may be simple as plugs, fresh fuel and cleaning the gunk in those carbs. Also look into getting a fuel diaphram and check that primer bulb...

Got the manual from Bayliner today and I must say about the only thing that I gained from it that I had not already learned here (and other forums) is a wiring diagram which I am sure will be handy. I was hoping it would at least have some pictures that helped me identify some things - but no such luck. So I turn to you guys again. I am attaching a picture of the stern and have circled some brackets and other things. Can anyone tell me what normally attaches to these?

Well from what I can see it appears that the larger item might be either the remnants of a boarding ladder or kicker motor setup. Too far away to tell.
The two holes to its left might be for a tow eye but I noticed that you already have a ski attachment installed. And for the one on the upper section I am completely clueless. If it all was to wrap togeteher as a kicker motor setup then it could be an old bracket to hold controls, etc. in place.
Again, all guesses and still working on my first cup of coffee !!!!!

The larger brackets do not look OEM Bayliner, probably the remnants of a kicker (small outboard usually 4-9hp for trolling) bracket. The other two holes to the left look to have the same spacing as the larger brackets. Could be the previous owner just drilled the holes in the wrong place then moved it to the left. Are they plugged?

The item at top I'm guessing might be a bilge pump outlet. But that is just a WAG on my part. Can you see anything connected to it from the inside or under the motor cover?

... i believe that was all used for the swim up platform. the holes at bottom and hole up top held the grab rail while the brackets housed and supported the platform.
