I have a 20' Suntracker with a classic 50 (45hp) that gets the boat up on plane, even with 7 adults. I want a bit more go to pull my adult kids on a tube. I have the opportunity to get a 1983 60 hp Mariner with all the cables for a really good price. My question is, will the difference in hp be enough to make a difference, or would it be too much trouble to mess with? Thanks in advance for any responses.

My first guess is you won't notice the difference.

Do some good checking before you take on a different motor. Have you checked your speed with the motor you have now? A GPS is best? Also are you at max rpm for the motor when you are at full throttle?

It will be some hassle to switch, and you may not have a good history for the motor you are getting and how it was serviced and treated.
