Well, as far as the battery, I would get one that has atleast 750 COLD cranking amps. I imagine it gets a bit colder in your neck of the woods.

I am not sure what you mean about the multi conecter. If it is the correct control for the engine it should plug in at the motor end.

Good luck

I have a 33 so it's probably similar. The only multi-pin connector I can think of would be for the wiring harness. Mine's a big black rubber covered connector. There's also a metal clamp that keeps it held together. It's just sits in the "base" kinda below the carb. I'd be glad to take some pictures if you think it will help.

No, the mix is not 100:1. They did try that for awhile but had bad things happen so they returned to 50:1 I suppose they have TC-W3 outboard oil in UK?? Regular unleaded 87 octane gas is the way to go. Lead has no advantage in an outboard, in fact it is detrimental.

Re: 1986 evinrude 25 hp electric start

thanks .. it did say 100 : 1 on external fuel tank!!
I have a 21.5m Dutch Barge built in 1928 with a DAF 575 diesel which I am confident with,, outboards are new to me (obviously) hence all the idiot questions.. I really do appreciate this site , your advice ... and patience!
I will attempt to connect the outboard. wire harness , fuel supply, battery etc this weekend.. be prepared for more questions.. thank you once again

can my outboard (evinrude 25hp electric start) be started manually with a pull cord. If so then does anything have to be disconnected??

They can be rope started, but assuming you have an alternator, it must be connected to a battery or it will blow the rectifier. You can prevent that by disconnecting the 3 yellow wires on the rectifier.
