We recently redecked a pontoon boat that hasn't been on the water in about 8 years. It has an 86 evinrude 30 hp. We replaced pretty much the entire ignition system (all new coils, plugs, selenoid etc), pulled apart the carb and cleaned it, checked and cleaned the fuel filter and fuel lines. The engine ran fine in the driveway but does not run well on the water. Cold (especially in the morning) it starts up, goes into gear and will run as long as the throttle isn't moved. (I've opened the throttle about halfway and cruised for 20-30 mins) If I attempt to open or close the throttle at all the engine calls it quits. If I attempt to restart it it will run for 30 seconds or so before winding down and quitting. After restarting 3-4 times it will refuse to run at all. Any ideas?
