Hello everyone. I recently purchased a 1990 Bayliner Capri 17' with a 1986 Force 125 outboard. The tilt and trim pump had a small crack in the bottom so water came into the system. The crack is now fixed and i was wondering how to flush the entire system as the tilt won't hold over about 20% throttle. PLEASE HELP! thanks in advance.

Terminology, the tilt is for lifting the motor for trailering. Trim is to adjust underway. Tilt won't hold underway.

Thanks for that info. I've read somewhere that the tilt should hold out until 50% throttle. And also, i can't even make it a few miles down a bumpy road without the engine coming all the way down. I don't think that is normal. Thanks.

Will the tilt hold overnight?

If it sits all night the prop will become about 3 or 4 inches closer to the ground... i can push the motor down by hand until trim kicks in. Thanks

Sounds like internal valve leak. More experienced people will have to help from here.

I already know the issue, it has water in the system. My question was, how do you flush the system? Thanks
