1986 islander

Well group looking for some knowledge, EZ if you want to move this do what is best, I am looking at a 86 22' hard top Islander with a 3.0 liter unknown leg , at least to me, needs bellows, what is it going to cost roughly for me to replace the bellows, with me doing the labor? Boat otherwise seems in good shape! Also what would a fair price be with the work needed, it has been stored inside.

Hey neighbor, I don't have any info for you but, I saw your Browning going down 68th ave. in the middle of last winter, what the heck? LOL

Not sure on the $, look on line for parts and add it up plus add about 20%.
You will probably want to replace all fuel lines and most rubber components.
I have a 21' cheiftain with a 3.0, an 86 should have a alpha drive. I had a 140 and found out it was a 1971 vintage after I bought the boat.
If you plan to water ski with this boat pass, the 3.0 is not fast. Top speed is about 28 mph, but it makes a good cruiser and fishing boat. Mine cruises nice at about 20mph at about 3200 rpms.

the 3.0 is not fast.


Me neither, fishing would be its job and i would hope it was reasonable on fuel

I have a 1983 Islander with 140 hp and it will top out at 34 (gps) with a light load and avgs 3.0 to4.0 gph at cruising speed depending on load and waves. Your hardtop is a bit heavier so 30 may be top speed and more to the 4.0 gph side on fuel. That Islander is an excellent fish machine...
