Re: 1986 Johnson 70 HP Cylinder 1 Bog Down

So the boat ran good on the lake. Night time approached so i had to power down and put my post lights in so I could get back to ramp. Tried to power back up, I did, but starter got stuck in up position. Took boat home, fixed starter and now the boat isnt starting.

I have good spark, gas, and good compression.

I am at a loss.

What kind of tank are you running? If this is a built in tank it could be a clogged anti-siphon tube and #3 just happens to be the the one that runs dry first. You mentioned being able to pumb the bulb at full throttle. Did it take a long time to fill back up?

no, the bulb is always hard...gas is definetely in the carbs...even pre-mixed gas in a spray bottle will not get it to pop. This motor was turn key. this issue started immediately following the starter getting stuck in the up position.
