I just purchased a bass tracker with a 1986 mercury 35,, it has no run in two years, but was winterized, and some other thing to prevent the carbs form gumming,,and it is supposed to run excellent, my question?? what should i do before starting,,everything looks perfect, all cables are in perfect order, carbs look clean to the look,, and plugs are good..

regardless drain the carbs and get rid of the fuel if theres any in the tanks - that gas stabilizer is recommended for no longer than 3-6 months - 2 years no running you should also at least rebuild the carbs and fuel pump .also before you crank it spray some fogging oil or 2 stroke oil in the cylinders and let it soak a minute then turn the motor by hand - then start her up .
