1986 OMC Cobra 4.3 (shift cable adjst?)

I downloaded the OMC manual 86-90 something and can't find the shift cable adjustment. Is there a measurement that i need? It grinds going into gear. The cut out switch is working but i can't get it synched with the cable i believe. This was a complete repower job.

You need to purchase a factory service manual from eBay. The one you have is junk, unfortunately. Hardly worth starting a fire with it!

Also, google "Stuart Hastings" and you can follow his instructions when coupled with the factory manual.
