This boat is in great shape other than the floor being rotted and i'm looking at possible stringers rotted.
Does anyone know if Ranger had solid transom in 1986, not wood?
I'm looking at replacing the floor very soon and i'm doing all the planning right now. I've replaced about everything else on this boat and im wanting to fix the floor and what ever problems that may arise while doing so. I have done one boat before where i took the gunnel off and replaced the transom, subfloor(stiffeners were flat pieces of plywood), keel, and floor. I had gotten some aluminum honeycomb that was 1/2inch thick and used for the floor, subfloor and used strips of the composite to build the keel with standing the composite on its edge. I overlaid everything with fiberglass. this boat was a lot stronger and much lighter than before...
This Ranger 680, I plan on using carbon fiber to make all repairs with. so i'm thinking that I wont need a plywood to use as a base for the flooring, just carbon fiber.
my question is where can i get some information on the blueprint of the underside of this model to see what i'm in for as to what may be needed to do the job better than factory and lighter.
any information on the construction of this 1986 Ranger 680 17ft fisherman would be greatly appreciated and help cut down any frustrations i will encounter.
The boat was a gift to me by my mom when she fell ill and i want to take her out on it.
