I have a 86 17'sea ray seville bowrider that is in need of some repairs. First, the transom is rotten and needs to be fixed but the transom is not 1 solid piece across the back of the boat. Instead it is made up of 3 sections of wood, 1 for the outdrive and 1 on either side of that to give support for the swim platforms. Should i put it in as 1 piece? The floor also needs repair. I started to pull up the old floor and realized it had been built with no stringers, only floatation foam and a piece of lumber that runs the length of the boat to serve as a nailer for the flooring. The floor is solid from the steering wheel forward but from the wheel back is shot! Should i try to repair just the bad flooring and put it back the way it was from the factory or tear it all out and put stringers in it? I will try to post some pictures to give a better idea of what i am working with. Thanks in advance.
