Did the 9.9 or 15 hp force outboards ever come with an electric starter as an option? My back is not what it use to be and pulling at the angle that I sit in my boat is eventually going to send me to the chiropractor. I can search the internet and/or my local boat/motor yard for one if it exists. Let me know what you think,,, Thanks for any help you can give... ron:D

PS: What about a merc or mariner starter??

The old Chrysler 9.9 was made in an "Autoelectric" version. The starter motor/generator was mounted on top of the flywheel.

I never heard of Force making this but since almost nothing was changed, if you found a non-functional Chrysler, you could retrofit. Won't be easy though since the crankshaft was special to those engines and would need to be swapped.

Evinrude/Johnson 9.9 and 15 are available as electric start.Perhaps you could trade up.Parts and service for the E/J motors is easier to find.
