Today I went to the marina. Picked up a fuel pump diaphram and the 2 other gaskets. I also took my prop. There were no numbers on it. They told me it was a 17. They suggested a 15(which came on those boats originally) I bought a rebuilt 15. They also said take the hydrofoil off. So I got home rebuil fuel pump. Prop on foil off. Then I added a 12v ac adapter(cigerette lighter type) to plug in accessories, such as gps. Also drained any fuel which was in the tank.
I am flushing the tank and sea foaming the engine during the first run.

I may get the boat out tomorrow morning finally to see where it is at with the changes.

I alos compression checked it. Seemed fine. all cylinders

I will kepp u updated

Well good, news and bad news after having the boat out.

Top speed got up to 35 mph!

Bad news is it was only briely. Boat started and sounded like a hit and miss engine. pop every now and then. Only ran 10mph! thn it kicked in up to 35mph then back to 10mph.
Sounds like electricial. What can cause the spark to be intermittent? I pretty sure the CDI boxes either work, or they dont.

Last year one failed and I have all 3 cylinders running on one box (as per instructions from here.)

What next?? any advice?
