On a 1987 200hp which jet controls idle air/fuel mixture? Top or middle? Mine is running rich plugs wet at idle. And does bigger jet = leaner fuel mixture

Top. Last I checked bigger jet equals more of everything: Air & fuel?

Lower one is for idle. Top is for intermediate. A bigger jet equals less fuel (leaner, more air). For a bad idle on that motor you may also want the check the recirculation valves. There's a procedure in the factory service manual. Been there.

Thanks guys I have checked the recirculating valves. And replaced 3. Seemed to help some but the lakes I typically fish at are idle speed only and tired of this thing loading up. Going to try to drill out jets.

If you have the right drill bits you can do it. Jets are about $10.00-$12.00 apiece

It's your motor.

'Magine if'n ya had a jig rigged up & a good drill press. And good sharp correct sized bits. Ya might could get away with it.

But we're talkin 1/100"?

Boy I dunno. Let us know how it works out.

Jets are not drilled!!!! Drilling can leave swirls in the brass and actually change the flow of jet, jets are reamed to size...
