1987 80hp Mercury 3 cyl

Hey guys, I am new to this site, but have been looking around on it for awhile and it seems that you got a great place here! Had a quick question for you folks....my buddy has an 1987 80hp Mercury 3cyl oil injected motor, but the oil injection system aint working quite right....he checked all the lines, and they aint clogged, but he did have to replace one, and is not sure if there is air in the lines or not, but can't find a place to bleed them other than right at the pump itself.....what he was wondering was if he can just pre-mix a tank of gas with oil and run it that way....the manual he has says its about 100:1 at idle, and 50:1 wide open, so if he can pre-mix the gas and oil, should he go someplace in the middle like 60:1 maybe? It won't load up at idle if he does that? We are just checking, cuz we are planning on taking it out on the river this weekend, and want to make sure its gonna run right first because this river moves pretty fast....thanks again....
