Back then, that was one of the boats I lusted after..... As I recall the 260 Scorpion cost about $35,000 with twin small blocks. I couldn't afford the 260, but seriously considered a 230 Stinger (single engine).
I ended up with a Wellcraft 23 Nova XL only because I found one that was only a year old, was heavily optioned, and had a trailer for less $$$$ than the base price of a new one. I had that boat for 18 years.
