It's not quite that simple! If your boat is correctly propped, it will usually be going as fast as it will go regardless of a prop change.
You can not willy-nilly change props and expect more speed. Indeed , increasing or decreasing pitch from optimum may actually reduce the boat's top speed.
You need to know the speed you are now going. It does not necessarily need to accurate GPS speed because even the inaccurate boat speedometer will most likely show a difference in speed and that is what you are looking for.
You ABSOLUTELY need to know the engine RPM at wide open throttle and maximum speed.
You ABSOLUTELY need to know the pitch and material of the prop you are using now.
And you need to trim the engine to its correct running angle to maximise the potential. You also need to remove any unnecessary weight. The more weight in the boat, the slower it will go.
Just like taking a trip, If you don't know from where you are starting, you can never know how to get to your destination.
