1987 hurricane

Hey people
Just picked up this "project boat" last w/e - this is my first posting, also my first Hurricane! Hull is in good shape, deck a little soft around hatch, but the 200 Yamaha looks brand new, under the cowl. Now the bad news, previous owner stripped all the rails and seats. What I have now looks like a 22 foot jonboat with a floor. I plan to rebuild this boat, anybody who may have taken on a similar project have any suggestions before I tear into it, please let me know. Any and all help appreciated.

First welcome to iboats.

I'd create your post under the build and restoration section as you'll get the better feedback from the guys who are best positioned to comment on restoration type topics.

I don't know if anyone will know the specific brand/hull, but certainly will provide the right directions.

Hey Thunderbug, I have the same kind of animal.. I bought an 88 FD196O/B that had been abused the last several years of its life.. I have all my rails and everything but have it striped off right now polishing and prepairing to restore the floor with the same problem around the hatch... What model is yours? mine is only rated max at a 150..
