1987 Johnson 40 Hp Lower Unit

Hello All.

I have a 1987 Johnson 40 Hp..missing a lower unit
I assume its '87, ... model: J40ECUD
I believe its a short shaft.

I am looking to get the motor working again...have a couple of questions.

Curious to find out what I should I be looking for ...What years are compatible?

What is a decent price to expect to pay for a compatible lower unit?

Does anyone have a 1987 Johnson Lower Unit for sale??
