1987 Johnson Control

I've got a 1987 Johnson 70 hp engine with t/t that uses the original side mount control box. I would like to change it out to a newer style unit I see on a lot of pontoon & other boats. Does anyone know how much is involved in chang it out? I would like to mount it on my steering console instead of using the one that mounts on the side rails of my pontoon. I am rebuilding my pontoon & I think the newer control would look much better & probably work much better too.

There are alot of after market controls, check with your local dealer or any marine after market parts supplier, most come with a mounting kits.
