1987-Mariner 20HP. At idle the motor dies.

Good evening, I have an outboard Mariner 1987 20HP and it runnings bad. When it is at idle the motor dies. I bought a carburator repair kit and i changed it and the spark plug is a new one. Is there anybody who has an idea why my motor dies when it is at idle? I need your help please, Thank you.

Check the "Engine FAQ's" There will be a topic on "decarbing". I used the deep creep on an outboard of mine and it idles like new!!! It costs $5 a spray can and it's real simple to do. <br /><br />This may/may not be your problem but it won't hurt. Esp being an 87' if it's never been decarbed before. <br /><br />Brent
