I'm having problems with my 1987 3cylinder oil injected mercury. My motor starts right up and idles fine but when I go to get on plane it won't go any faster than 2500 rpm unless I disconnect the fuel line line then it runs perfect. If I reconnect the fuel line i starts to die. I tried replacing the primer bulb but nothing changed. Any further help with this problem would help. Thanks in advance.

Fuel pump rebuild time. It is leaking/pumping fuel into the crankcase.

Kit is available from Mercury for under $20
