bought this boat 2 years ago. it was working then, it is a 1987 evinrude 75 hp. This is the first boat we've owned and have no idea what coils or selnoids, etc. are or where they're at. We would like to fix it instead of buying a whole new boat. any advise on easy boat for dummies manuals. also water comes in the boat but, my husband thinks its the plugs not fitting proplerly, any other way to tell if the boat has cracks, instead of visual.

sloopy thanks for answering, are the manuals here real basic. i don't want to go buying a manual that takes for granted we already know what they are talking about. My husband works great on trucks is the engine on a boat have the same concept to it? thanks again.

no the manuals are not basic, if there were you would not be asking a basic question, just order one you will need it trust us :) we are not being paidto say this so don't worry. a marine engine is a whole lot different then an automotive

good luck

a marine engine works harder, spins fasters, and has to wiegh less then its automotive counter part :) the manuals above are cut down shop manuals and can get you through any thing, from carbartor adjustments to Powerhead replacment (hopefully you would never need that) they are a great investment, to learn how the outboard works :)
