Im Getting Ready To Reinstall The Outdrive And Need To Know When Reinstalling The Out Drive What Position Should The Shift Lever On The Outdrive Be In? Neutral ? How About The Shifter Itself ?
Also, Is Permetex Required On The Gasket Seperating The Outdrive From The Transom Assembely ? What About Lubricating The Shift Cable ? Any Insight Or Advice Is Welcome

Howdy,

There is a LOT to reinstalling the drive according to the manual.

It talks about doing the " Shift System Neutral adjustment" prior to installation.

There's some VERY critical measurements to do this correctly.

There's info HERE about this also.


If you attempt this without a service manual you may end up damaging the drive.

You need an OMC #507605 manual.
