1987 wellcraft twin 5.7L Starter Bolt Removal

5.7L Starter Bolts, have socket to fit the close fit bolt can get torque bar and socket on bolts, need suggestions on removal as they are on so so darn tight worried will bust of bolt. Have torque bar with pipe on handle from starter to front end of engine where I can get a handle on it but they don't budge. Are these high strength bolts grd 9 or so? or soft and will twist off. Hints and hacks are needed.

while they are grade 8 bolts, you may have to pull the motor to be able to get them out. if you break them off, you will have to pull the motor

you will need penetrating oil and you may need heat if they are rusted in place. proper use of a gas-axe will require the motor out and on a stand.

The bolts are torqued to 50 ft lb, so this is tight. Have not snapped one off yet, but also not saying it can't be done because it has happened. If your in slat water then its rolling the dice. I use a short ratchet an a bar, then use a hammer to smack it a few times trying to break it loose.

Be nice if you could get a small impact wrench on it and set on low setting to vibrate it some before getting it good.

Fresh water thanks will wait for warm air hit with pent oil run and warm engine and get the bar and pipe on it.

If you get a ratchet strap set up to pull on the tool this may give you enough to break the bolts loose , this way you can hit the bolt or the socket while there is torque being excerted. I have used this method and it saves the hands when the bolt suddenly lets go.
