I was with this group back in 2019 shortly after my Force motor overheated and shut down in the middle of Lake Erie. I posted pics of the number 3 cylinder walls being heavily scored and was told I needed to have the cylinders bored out to the next size, etc. After taking it all apart and having the cylinder block inspected at my local machine shop I found that the previous owner had already done this once and the cylinders were at max oversize, so the cylinder block was nothing more than a boat anchor. Took me quite some time to find a cylinder block in good shape and it turns out it is still OEM bore size and in perfect shape. I also bought all new Wiseco pistons and rings, OEM size. That all happened by Nov 2019. So, my torn down motor has been sitting for nearly 6 years while lift just kept getting in the way of me finishing this rebuild. I finally retired this past spring and find myself with lots of spare time on my hands. So, back to the motor I go.

I am currently waiting for a new labrynth seal as I found one to have a large piece broken out of it. Other than that I am pretty certain I will be on my way to finishing this rebuild once the seal arrives next week. In my conversations, back in 2019, with a few of the very mechanically inclined individuals in this forum somebody mentioned something about needing to apply some black silicone gasket material somewhere near the top of the motor, if I recall correctly, but I don't recall precisely where it will be needed. I would have all this info at my fingertips if I could have successfully signed in under my original membership account, but I was unable to do so.

I would also like to add that this is the very first outboard motor I've ever worked on other than simple fuel system cleaning. So any helpful tips from anybody would be very greatly appreciated. I would love nothing more than to get my Bayliner back on the water by next spring if at all possible.

Thanks for reading.

The gasket for the exhaust tube F439736 is N/A and if it is bad you have to make one of your own.
If it is bad exhaust will leak and maybe it will come up under the hood and the engine will breath some exhaust instead of only fresh air.
The gasket exhaust lower 809825 is N/A and you have to make one of your own.
Maybe your 125Hp do not have this gasket as when I look at the parts diagram it is not there at the Force engines.
The earlier Chrysler 3 and 4 cylinders which are very similar to your engine has this lower gasket.
The gasket should be between the adapter plate and the motor leg.

Thank you. I will look at that more closely than I have to see what it has and will also look at my complete motor gasket kit.
