1988 125hp force needle and seat

i wouuld like to know where i can get some all metal needles because i read in a post that they have a bad habbit of sticking. i think i am having that problem. sometimes it seams to be starving for fuel at wot and sometimes it is ok. also do they make the kind that have the little spring clip that pulls them shut

I don't think its the carbs. I think what you have is a classic 125hp Force issue. Plugs cutting out and back is a bad stator, affects coils, been there, done that. If it quickly cuts in and out, thats it. Next time it decides to slow down, quickly shut it off and pulls the plugs, and SEE if they are all wet with gas or not.

where can i buy a stator and would you know what the part number would be for a 1988 125hp force with black coils and boxes. would a stator off of a 90 hp work

Check with any Bayliner dealer...the have cross reference on Force/Merc parts

i did a stator output test and on 1 and 2 130 volts and 3 and 4 130 volts. the book says needs to be at least 210. seems odd that they both would be that much to low. is this the way a stator goes or could there be another problem. the book says replace it if it is not 210 or more.stators cost so much that i hate to replace it and not solve the problem

gotsaved. check with standard magneto. they don't have a large selection because they are in the auto industry. but your 1988 force is a chrysler design and your stator came from the world of auto manufacturers. If they happen to have the stator that you need it will be at auto prices ($120ish).<br />same part. just a less greedy distribution channel.
