Hi all,
I've just replaced the stator and rectifier-regulator 10 months ago on my 1988 140hp looper. Engine was working perfect after that, then I've noticed that it was having intermittent charging and RPM for the last two months, engine was still running very good. I removed the flywheel and cleaned the magnets, also to make sure the magnets were all in place, and that the stator wasn't melting or anything like that, so I put the flywheel back, ran the motor and everything was working again with no intermittent issue, I was so happy.
Now is having the same problem again, so I suspect that it can be one or more lose wires.
My question is: Could be possible that a wire that is not making good contact somewhere in the connections around the powerpack cause this malfunction everytime I touch the electrical parts on top of the powerpack? If that is the case, which wire colors do I look for in order to find the culprit?
Any help would be eternally appreciated. Thanks.
