hey guys just a quick question. on this motor just today i replaced the water pump assembly. all the gaskets impeller and such. well hooked it up to the muffs and fired it up. took a few min for dribbles of water to come out of the pee hole. i kept monitoring the engine temp, was just warm to the touch. both sides. but after about five mins it shot out water for 2 to 3 seconds and nothing for another min or two. it kept that way for the 15min i let it idle. but never got to hot to touch. i have read several things and some say its normal some say big problem but i dont know. i removed the hose on the lower left side facing the prop and when it seemed the tstats open is the inly time water comes out of their. that paticular line runs straight to the pee hole. i just bought this motor so dont know much about it. coures it didnt pump any water prior to the water pump change, in the water or on the muffs. so here seeking help any and all will be greatly appreciated.

Check pee hole not blocked with wire while running.Take out both Tstats and test not seized.Should open around 145 deg.

ok back to the cooling thing, it does start to pee just above idle and gets really strong at wot. but just spitting at idle. wondering about the pipe that runs from the water pump to the block. it felt alittle loose putting it back in.should it be a tight seal at the block and if so is their a seal or would i still have water flow issues at the motor. the tstas did open and the motor does not over heat

That model only pees strong when tstats open, view the plumbing to confirm. You will notice cooling water exiting from Prop on start up.Mine does the same.If anything check your poppet, should be on lower starboard side.

Also it wont pee worth a dang on a hose/ear,better to run it in a barrel or backed down the ramp...
