1988 4 hp Evinrude and salt water use

Motor runs great and has never been in salt. I'm going to south Texas for 3 months, this winter, and I'm thinking I'll bring my Scanoe and use the 4 HP to motor around in the bay (coastal Texas). With proper daily flushing, would that be a bad idea or are Evinrudes good to go in the salty seas? It looks like new, now. Maybe I'll just stick to rowing the Scanoe. I could use the exersize.

Salt water will not hurt your motor, flush it good mist the power head with water and wipe dry then give everything a spay with wd-40 or similar, What will hurt your motor is if you run it in saltwater then neglect to take proper care of it,
