need some info on changing the water pump in the outdrive. im havent been experiencing any heating probs but im doing maintenence and figure i might as well.
If its a cobra its easy.
the uper housing has a triangular cover on the back side. its the curved ramp looking part. take off the cover. ( its only there as a cover to give the outdrive a finished look) under that youll see a roughly round cover held on by 3 bolts. take off those bolts. and remove the housing. Under there thats where the water pump impeller is located.
i just did mine not too long ago. I bought the whole kit but you dont really need it. i jsut changed it because I jsut bought the boat and wasnt sure when it was last done so I changed all the gaskets) its a remove and replace deal. the nice thing about the kit is it comes with all the gaskets and O rings needed
