Hello everyone. So, I have rebuilt/worked on many OMC's but this is my first Force. A little different set-up but essentially the same. Anyway, here is my latest issue. I have rebuilt all three carbs, and bought a donor motor to fix back power pack/coils. The motor now starts first turn of the key!! After about ten seconds of running though, fuel starts running out of the top carb only. The float is set the same as the other two, and fuel only comes out off the top one. Also, fuel is getting to top cyl, tested by putting a new plug in and it got wet. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before. Thanks

Sometimes after a rebuild the needles will stick even if the float is set correctly. I have had it happen a few times with new kits. I am unsure if it is parts quality or gremlins? Usually, you can pull it apart again and reset the needle on the float (this is what I do anyway). It almost always clears up the issue.

I've had the same thing happen to me also. Set the floats per factory specs and watch the gas drip out. Re-set the float just a tad lower and no more gas leak.

I think some of the older black foam type floats are not as buoyant as they once were, and need to be set to close the fuel flow just a bit lower than factory specs (with the carb held in it's normal upright position) to compensate.

Alright thanks guys. I will try both suggestions over the next couple days and will repost results.

If your rebuild kits had a needle seat with a groove and lip on one side, that lip goes toward the needle. If you install it with the flat side toward the needle, there is not enough pressure to adequately seal when the needle seats against it..
