1988 85hp and a 1977 115hp CDI Queastion

I have a 1977 chrysler 115hp and a 1988 85hp force, I want to get the force working but Im unemployed and money is scares, the CDI unit is bad but I have this 1977 chrysler 115hp that all electrical works , is anything on these motors interchageable or even possible with some rigging?

looking at the parts for both of these at outboardignition.com, they are configured different, and I don't think they will interchange...

If you are willing to drill the top of the block to fit the (seal and alternator) mount from the 115 AND if you machine down the plug height of the mount, and find a 3 cylinder distributor cap and rotor, then you can swap the whole ignition from the 115 onto the 85. However, the parts, even used, will cost more than buying a CD box.

You would be much better off mounting the 115 on the boat, assuming it is rated for it.
