Just got an 88 capri cuddy is almost pristine condition. Stored inside all its life, no rot (I tested the floor and transom) 3.0 with cobra drive. Everyting works. Now my question, the cuddy cabin side windows look like they need to be re-sealed. What is the procedure? They are the little tinted jobs . Is there a trick in removing and reinstallation? Are they just a flat piece of lexan or plexi glued in place? TIA.

Oops. My enthusiasm got the better of me.

If I put some outward pressure on the windows, it creates a gap. I have no Idea how these things attach.

My Cuddy doe's not have the windows in the front like yours. Just a black out decal. You must have the 19 ft. You should be able to cut them out with a sharp knife bent at 45 degrees so you don't damage the opening and the paint. Scrap of the sealer with a sharpened piece of plexy glass. Be careful not to flex the window or you will crack the glass. Its probably brittle from age. You will have to make up stilts to hold the glass into position till the glue (urethane) dries. Tape alone will not hold it long enough. Hope this helps

You could call a auto glass shop and ask them if they will sell you a couple of tubes.

They make 3M 5200 in black. That would probably work awesome.

That is good to know. Thanks ezmobee. This is a great site.

No problem. If the don't have the black 5200 here, I'm 99% sure Jamestown Distributors does.

I think you are going to want something that is a little more flexable then 5200. Something in line that you would use to seal the cap (deck) around the rub rail. I think 4200 is more flexable

Re: 1988 Bayliner Capri cuddy cabin side windows

Hi there,
I'm new to the forum but I saw your post about the windows and from personal experience I would use Sikaflex 291, its like 5200 but more flexible. I work with boats every day and have used this product for many years now for a verity of above and below waterline applications and found it to be very versatile especially when combined with correct primer (although not essential). You will need primer (Sika 209N) (black) for this particular installation if you want to guarantee no future problems, it will recreate that black border around the inside edge of window and look all shiny and new :)
Hope this is helpful information and the 291 is available in black, white and brown.
Good luck !
