You can do it. All it takes is time and a willingness to learn a few things by taking the time to do your homework.

Nice score on the boat, any overall pictures to share with us?

Like everyone has said. Read this forums and learn. That is what I did. It does take some time, but it is well worth it.

Re: 1988 bayliner cobra

Im new too this yr I bought my 1st 2 boats both 86 bayliners. 1)14' capri 2.3 volvo i/b replaced floor and upholstery, bought 300.00 in new parts for eng. ran great then blew the block apart a week ago. 2) 19' capri 125 force o/b ran great 1st 3 times out, now its flooded out and wont start back. I "think" its a simple carb problem. we'll find out soon. the 1st was completely rotten and water loged but she'd float! I removed 150-200 +/- lbs of wet, rotten wood. rebuilt seats, bought foam & material, got her lookin and runnin good then pow! I bought boat #2 so I could go out for memorial day. didnt happen Im sittin here on the net, but its rainin too. The floors are in ok shape but soft, so I'm gonna tear into this one, floors, upholstery, etc. hopefully I wont blow this eng up! good luck with your project I would expect to see alot of rotten but dont give up. we'll be on the water or sink it trying. (god I hope not !!!!!!!!!!!)
