1988 Cruisers

I have a 1988 Cruisers 24' I just picked up. In the bilge there is some type of sensor (it looks like a sensor) with one wire coming out of it. Any idea what this is? I am new to this thing called boat ownership 8)

It could be a sensor for a depth guage. It isn't attached to the bilge pump right?

yep - depth sounder - epoxied to the hull - don't try to remove it

OK. Thanks for the info. I tried to trace the wire out and it is disconnected.
