Does anyone have a documented procedure for actually checking the oil injection system on this motor?
I have monitored the tank and I AM using oil, but I'm wondering if I"m using enough.

Thx in advance

These engines have a solid and reliable system. A worm driven mechanical oil pump. The only adjustment you could possibly make is to the position of the arm on the oil pump. Check a service manual for your engine to determine it is in the correct position. These are not like the mercurys with a plastic gear on the crank that can go or the terrible VRO system on a Johnrude.

Hi. Yes, I've heard they are very reliable.
BUT... I'm still nervous about it's being skimpy on the oil usage.
Now, with that said,I ran the boat all last summer (may have put 30 hours on it) and it seems to run fine.
I just expected it to use more oil

It sounds like you are telling me if the oil level in the tank is going down, then it's working ok?
I was hoping there was some kind of a test where I could run premix and disconnect oil lines form intake and measure how much oil is coming out?

seems like I have read that there is a procedure and specs , measurable amount (CCs) of oil ,in a specific time period ( minutes I think)that it should put out

Have you looked in the Yamaha service manual for your motor?
