i have an evinrude 50 vro 1988. there is no telling how long it has been sitting up. I have taken the crabs off and cleaned them very good. I was unable to get the low speed jet out of one of the carb. but i did clean them very very good. there was a lot of oil in the crabs. i also cleaned the vro pump with i have now unhooked and i am mixing the gas myself at 50:1. i also cleaned the primer. The motor now starts very easily but the problem is i have to keep hit the primer bypass on the key to keep it running. i can get to start and run as long as i keep pushing the key . i even have used the idle lever and put it in gear and ran it at some higher rpms. it does all of this fin e but as soon as i quit pumping the key it runs out of gas and dies. I can see the fuel filter doesn't stay full either and after the motor dies i can pump the blub one time and fill the filter back up. Sorry for the long post but i am new to this and want to get most of in info out there in one shot.
